一般材質是不織布，
但是也有使用半生物材質的（如3M隱形貼），
成份一般是祕密。
一般外用藥物都是脂溶性的，
分子大小一般不超過0.22nm孔徑，
以避免細菌以及病毒污染。
但是會配合劑型做控制。
